Helmets compared on their safety ratings, then priced
Helmet Scout is a new, independent UK guide to motorcycle helmets, built on the safety ratings published by SHARP, the Department for Transport’s helmet safety scheme, with live prices from UK retailers. Every rating links to SHARP’s own page.

How a helmet page will look at launch: its SHARP rating and impact zone results, sourced specs and price history.
View the samplesSafety explained
UK helmet law, ECE 22.05 and 22.06, what SHARP tests and how to get the fit right, from GOV.UK and SHARP, with every point sourced.
Read it nowEvery SHARP rating, searchable
Every full-face and modular helmet the Department for Transport's SHARP scheme has rated, filterable by stars, standard (ECE 22.05 or 22.06), weight and brand.
Impact zones side by side
Compare up to three helmets on SHARP's results at each test speed and impact point, not just the star rating.
Best rated for the money
SHARP finds no link between a helmet's price and its rating, so we'll show the lowest live price at each star rating.
Live prices, history and alerts
Current UK prices from every retailer we can, cheapest first, whoever pays us; our own daily price checks, so you can see whether a "deal" is real; and an email when the price drops.
Who’s behind it
Helmet Scout is run by Tim Bonnett. We don’t test helmets ourselves: safety ratings come only from SHARP, credited and linked, and Helmet Scout isn’t connected to or endorsed by SHARP or the Department for Transport.
Independent, and open about money
We’ll earn commission from some retailers when you buy through our links. It never decides what we list, how we rank it or what we say about it, and any paid placement will be clearly labelled. How we make money.
